Post Tutorial: How to configure Tibia for use with iBot

Before you start using iBot, it’s a good idea to configure your Tibia settings for optimal use with iBot. This tutorial will show you how.

    1. Options → General

First, you should enable Tibia Classic Control. This is really important — iBot won’t work properly if you don’t enable this setting.

The other options in this window don’t really matter as far as iBot is concerned, so feel free to change those to your liking.

    2. Options → Graphics

iBot doesn’t have a light hack, so you’ll probably want to set ambient light to 100%. This won’t make the screen as bright as when using a light hack, but it’s good enough.

If you have a slow computer or you plan to use MCs, it’s a good idea to use the Adjust framerate limit setting. I recommend setting it to 20 or 25 fps — it will reduce CPU usage, and you don’t really need more anyway.

    3. Options → Console

Lots of iBot scripts use the getmessages() and getnewmessages() functions to read messages from Tibia’s Server Log. To further reduce CPU usage in this case, I’d recommend disabling Show Status Message in Console unless you have scripts that rely on these messages, of course. This way, you’ll avoid getting spammed with useless messages like “You healed yourself for 123 hitpoints.”, and the iBot scripts that parse messages will have much less work, run faster, and use fewer CPU cycles.

If you do need these messages for use in scripts such as Safe Stalker, consider showing only status messages for your own character by disabling status messages of others.

    4. Maps

iBot's cavebot goes crazy if it needs to reach a waypoint that is near a mini-mark. For this reason, you need to remove all mini-marks from your Tibia maps. If you want, you can download fully explored maps without mini-marks here: http://www.tibiamaps.org/downloads/

    5. FAQ / Other Notes

    How to MC?

iBot doesn’t have a MC built-in, so you have to use a separate tool for MCing. The most popular ones are NeoMC (safe download from BlakW’s site) and Blackd MC. (Disclaimer: this is not an advertisement for another bot — these are both separate tools that ONLY enable multi-clienting in Tibia, nothing else. Never use any other bot than iBot!)
